Hiya
ive just finished 3 sessions of chemo and about to have a weeks worth of radiotherapy, am I ready to get gel nails yet, I’ve heard the uv light is bad for you if you’ve had chemo, also can I get my eyebrows tinted, I managed to keep them during chemo.
ive had 16 lymph nodes removed so are massages ok on that arm?
I really miss all my beauty treatments but not sure what I can snd can’t have.
many thanks

Hi Superskydiver welcome to the forum. I can understand that you want to get back to feeling like your self again but I know that some therapists wont treat women after Cancer before a specific period of time has elapsed as they dont know how you will react to any of the dyes or tints used.
I was always advised not to let anyone do anything on the arm that was on the same side as the op and lymph node having been removed as this can cause more problems than anything else so I would be tempted to say no to any massages on that arm. That said by contacting the therapists they should be able to tell you whether they are able to do what you want as they will have guidelines to work but it is important that you tell them what treatment you have had or are still having.
Hi
I would say you should wait for now - my nails fell off six months post treatment, the chemo is still doing it’s work for many months after you have finished, so I would really urge caution, can’t really advise on the eyebrows or massage but as says some beauticians won’t treat you after you have had cancer , particularly so near to your treatment. There is some guidance for therapists here https://www.babtac.com/blog/2018/02/117-treating-clients-with-cancer Probably best contacting your usual therapist and seeing if they can advise?
