Hi everyone
I am new to the forum but have been lurking for awhile. I am finding the wait for biospy results really stressful. I had an appt at breast clinic 2 weeks to investigate a lump. It turned out to be a cyst but the mammogram showed up 2 suspicious areas. I had an ultrasound and 2 biospys. The dr doing biospy said it could be fibroadenoma but did not know for sure. The form I handed in said my results would be discussed in MDT next Friday. That was a week ago so phoned today to chase and was told they had not been discussed yet. So upset because I face a further wait and it's a bank holiday weekend. My mental health is really suffering. Does anyone know why it could be taking so long to discuss results?
Good morning
I have been on the same pathway as you and the wait is the worst thing because you Will believe the wait could effect your chances.
I also work for the nhs in a area very close to this. So MDT will still happen regardless of bh maybe on a different day but not week. There are guidelines that tell them from diagnosis to treatment what timescales to adhere to. Eg from results (what cancer it is) they have to begin a treatment programme within 2/3 weeks. Rest assured covid hasn’t interfered with this.
treatment of bc has moved on such a long way the processes are efficient
