I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer & and an aggressive Lymph node cancer after only having a clear Mamogram 3 months ago! So a huge shock & journey to start. The amount of appointments have been crazy. I unfortunately had a haematoma with the 5 biopsies, ive had a CT which confirmed sizes of cancers, marker clips put in both cancers & i have a 'Port' in my chest.
My plan is 6 months of Chemo (2 x Double Chemo mix), followed by surgery, radiotherapy & more drugs. This feels a bit daunting but ive started treatment very quickly. i have broken my plan into bite sized chunks to get through it.
So sorry for your diagnosis its must be so frustrating at the moment for you, your treatment plan seems massive but it may change on your journey. Beginning its very difficult for everyone especially Chemo ... iam just about to have Chemo too very soon after mastectomy. In this forum we all the same cancer its cancer , but we here to support each other and go true this journey together. XZana

Hi DC,
I’m not sure if we’re in the same boat but it sounds similar. My left breast became red, swollen and painful. Long story short, after a whirlwind of tests I was diagnosed with Inflammatory BC, stage 3, locally advanced with cancerous lymph nodes. CT scan showed no tumours elsewhere (thankfully!). It is a fast growing and aggressive cancer too.
I’ve got the same kind of treatment plan as you. To be honest, I felt lucky to be in a position to get the treatment. Could have been worse!
I was having chemo the following week and have had a second. They’ve not been too bad.
I’m having a breast MRI scan on Tuesday to see how far the tumour has shrunk. My BC Nurse did say that most people do not get a 50% reduction so I’m expecting to move on to different chemo and HER2+ drugs. I actually feel there has been an improvement in my breast as it’s not so swollen and is much softer, hopefully not just wishful thinking!
I know treatment has improved so I’m keeping my fingers crossed and looking for the best result.

Hi Bluebell, im also Her2 positive grade 3 and this is call aggressive cancer. Yesterday was my first Bday with diagnosis this not leaving my head even for few seconds! Cant wait to start chemo and whatever i need it. My cancer was very little but i end up with mastectomy anyway ,its waiting time for me . How many of chemotherapy for you? Im meeting my surgeon on Monday to discuss pathology results but i know that chemo will be no matter what results will come . How you coping with after chemo? Wishing you lovely day xxZana
Happy Birthday, hope you had as good a day as you could.
It’s difficult to stop thinking about but I actually feel better now I’ve started my chemo, that’s because I know I’m taking positive steps along my treatment path. I was very tired during my first round of chemo but, all in all, I’ve not been too bad. I’m having 6 rounds of chemo, 1 every three weeks.
Hope you’re recovering well after your mastectomy. It’s a big operation. My surgeon will see how well the chemo has worked but I’ll probably have to have a mastectomy too as the cancer is in the skin on my breast. Will have to wait and see.
Fingers crosses that you get some positive news on Monday. Try not to be too afraid of the chemo, if possible. You will get help with any side effects.
Have a good day.
Bluebell xx
