  1. Hi , I joined some time ago after having had 3 lumpectomies and radiotherapy in 2019. I was taking Anastrazole  which caused me pain and swelling in my wrist joints.
  2. I stopped taking the Anastrazole and was seen by a rheumatologist just as we went into lockdown in March. I was given Hydroxychloroquine which took some time to
  3. take effect.
  4. I am a bit better now, but I’ve been quite badly affected by rheumatoid arthritis.
  5. The yearly check was fine, and It’s just a matter of getting over the pain and stiffness in my joints.
  6. I now take Tamoxifen and my wrists are no longer so swollen.
  7. I have found all this quite trying.
  • Hello.  Sounds like you've had a tough time.  If you need a chat say hi on this thread Awake

  • Hi , welcome back! Sorry you’ve had such a grim year, not helped I’m sure by the other C word. Glad your new treatment regime is better for you. I’ve 2 local cancer buddies from my ear acupuncture at Maggie’s, who are my age ish but on tamoxifen because other health issues mean that letrozole or Anastrozole (which I’m on) weren’t suitable.
has already suggested joining the chat on the Awake thread (very active) and I’d also recommend the Walking back to Happiness thread as we post photos of our walks, or anything really as obviously not everyone is able to go out and about.
Sending a big virtual hug to welcome you back, HFxx

Thank you for your kind message, and thoughts. Today is a lovely sunny day,and I’ve been out walking in the sunshine! I am very stiff, but it’s amazing how much you can do once you get going!
I’m eternally grateful to this forum for informing me about others for whom Anastrazole did not work for them. I’m also impressed at the way I’ve been well supported by my GP during the time when my inflammatory markers were high! Couldn’t have come at a worse time !Ive shielded a lot as a result of this.
    I hope you’re okay,Happy Feet.
I have cried a  lot, but I’m better now! Lots of hugs!
