Hi everyone
Been diagnosed yesterday with triple negative breast cancer. My plan is chemo within the next few weeks, surgery followed by radiotherapy
I guess it’s gonna be the roughest and toughest time ahead. Love to here from anyone who has a little advice. ️

Hi. I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer on 10 Nov 2020. I have just had my 2nd chemo treatment and will be having surgery and radiotherapy. Might not be able to offer much advice as only started but here if you need a chat. I know how difficult it is when you are first diagnosed and I still feel like they have made a mistake and can't still believe it
Hi
a warm welcome to the community, though we wish you didn't have a reason to be here.
So, you'll be having the full works for treatment. I know it's daunting, but it isn't always as tough as you imagine - lots of people cope really well. We all have images in our heads of people on chemo all tired and drawn but it isn't usually like that. They have lots of medication to counteract the side effects and these days want you to be able to get on with normal life as much as possible. Admittedly, that's not really possible right now but they'll still look after you and make sure you aren't suffering too much.
We have a breast cancer chemo thread where everyone going through treatment gets together to share advice and tips, you might want to take a look at that.
We also have a triple negative breast cancer group. It's not quite so busy as this main breast cancer group but you might like to take a look. You are welcome to post wherever you want - here, there, both - wherever you feel comfortable.
Hope chemo is kind to you and we look forward to seeing you around.

Hi Ozzyo,
I know how daunting all of the treatment ahead seems. I finished mine in November, I was diagnosed with TNBC in February 2020. I was dreading chemo but it wasn’t as bad as I was imagining. Yes, you have tough days but once your treatment starts and you get underway the time passes quite quickly.
One useful thing I bought was a headband with long hair attached from hats4heads, wore a beanie over it and it was not a bad look. Also not as hot and scratchy as a wig and only about £25. The company are very helpful too.
I also had a Picc line which made my life and also the nurses, so much easier when my chemo was weekly.
Take care of yourself,
GG xx
Hello, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in June last year. The tumour was at stage 2 and grade 3. I have completed my chemo, had surgery and now waiting on a course of radiotherapy. The tumour shrunk considerably during chemo and this made the surgery less invasive. It’s a very stressful time but try to remember that your cancer is treatable and that you will get through this. I would advise that you give your immune system an extra boost with vitamins and pro biotic drinks. Be kind to yourself and try not to give in to any negative thoughts.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
