Good morning all.have just had my first chemo session. First day after I was fine then I was so sick for next few days, now I don't feel so bad.i couldn't eat those days so has any one any suggestions as to what I can eat .I m prediabetic so I have to eat but food makes me feel ill.
Thanks in advance
Small creamed rice pots worked for me as a start back on food. Queasy drops are great too for nausea...you can get sugar free ones too.
Hi. I found plain food, like crackers or toast, were the easiest for me to eat. It's really tough when you're feeling so sick, I hope this passes soon, best wishes
As this is all new to me , quick question how long after each session does the nausea last.?.I've lost 7 lbs since Tuesday last so I'm starting to panic a bit. Thanks for any advice.
I'm very new to this, but don't forget you can always call the hospital and ask to try different nausea meds. From what I've been reading, the only symptom that is expected is the fatigue? Everything else should be managed somehow - like diet to sort bowel issues, meds for nausea, etc.
You shouldn't just suffer through it. Contact your team and they should be able to help you get the nausea under control.
Hi, my nausea only lasted a couple of days. Did they give you anti sickness meds? I found it was best to take these whether I felt sick or not (learnt this the hard way after the first cycle). Do give you nurse a call if you're worried or not holding anything down, a week like this feels like a long time, best wishes
