Hi all,
I was diagnosed In Sept with breast cancer after a routine Mammogram, I had biopsy done and ultrascan. I was called back two weeks later and informed that I would need an operation to remove the lump. I had the operation in October. However they had found a second lump which they also removed, as well 3 lymphnodes, they called me back 2 weeks after op, and informed that the histology report came bavk that now graded my cancer as grade 3 from grade 2.
They sent the cancer to the USA for Onkytype genetic coding, which came back higher than their threshold.meaning instead of radiation now inwould have to have Chemotherapy, this frightened me.and I was very upset. I had just got used the fact that I had cancer and would have radiation now it was more of aggressive cancer inwould need Chemo. I had a session with the Oncologist and was informed of all the treatments and side effects, I didnt have a choice really I had to accept the treatment to avoid a reoccurrence of cancer turning up elsewhere.
I have had the 1st session 14th Dec, I was shocked by the amount drugs syringes, they had stopped cold capping due to Covid so I had bought our own but due to delays in my treatment it was not beneficial. The night of the treatment i had real bad sweats and temp 36.1 called the Chemo team they said to not worry but keep an eye if it went below to 35.5. It didn't go down any further
The first week after 2 days post treatment I began to feel very much under the weather, very nauseous, fatigued, sleep routine all.messed up I took the anti sickness pills and the steroids, after the 5th day I had to self administer injections for boosting the white blood count. 2nd week feel slowly better more energy than last week.
Tongue is bluish purple and weird taste in mouth got loads of pimples in my head and some on my face.
I am not looking forward to next session on 5th Jan as someone said the chemo the more ill I will feel?
