Hi ladies,
ive not had a diagnosis, I’m worried sick, I found a lump in my breast 3 weeks ago, went to the Drs 2 weeks ago and was referred to the breast clinic, I have just come back from my appointment at the loveliest and friendliest clinic x the nurse practitioner could feel my lump and sent me for an ultrasound scan, I’m 38 so a mammogram is not suitable for me, I had the ultrasound and the gentleman performing the scan could not find a lump and said it was just my breast tissue, there is defiantly a large mass in my breast, so I was shocked he couldn’t find anything, also very relieved, he sent me out to go and get my results with the nurse practitioner, she entered the room an you could tell she didn’t look happy with the result he had give and really didn’t want me to leave without seeing the consultant, the consultant who was very lovely and reassuring examined my breast and noted the large mass, I asked if it could be a cyst and she said it was definitely not a cyst and wanted to do a fine needle aspiration, this was done and I now need to wait for the results, she also said if nothing shows up from the results she would like to monitor me and an appointment has been made for 6 weeks.
so my question really is, has anyone experienced a lump that was clearly palpable but didn’t show on the ultrasound? The lump is quite deep in the my breast near my armpit side x
I am trying my hardest not to worry, but I have a sinking feeling that I’m not going to get good news x
I’m so sorry you ended up with the diagnosis of breast cancer and the difficult time that you must be going through, I hope your treatment is going okay and your hopefully on the road to getting the cancer gone (sorry probably not the best way to put it) xx I’ve had the results of the FNA and it came back as there are cell changes, but they can’t tell if cancerous from it, they said they grade it 1-5 and I came in at a 3 which needs further investigation, so this was on Monday, I was called back in the next day where they again did another ultrasound and this time a mammogram, both didn’t show anything, apparently I have dense boobs so the mammogram shows white and anything like a tumour is white, so it’s white on white and pretty hard to see anything, the lovely nurse said because I’m only 38 (bless that made me feel young even with all the wrinkles lol) I’ve got another appointment on Tuesday for a core biopsy and then a MRI, she made me laugh about that as the nurse said you will have to lie on your front with your boobs hanging through two holes lo!! Then they tape cod liver oil Capsules to your nipples ha ha I was laughing.... she said it’s very dignified lol shouldn’t laugh but I’m picturing it now ha ha saggy boobs with tablets stuck on the nips lol!!
Hi Becky-Jayne
I hope that things have settled down a bit for you. I am early doors on my journey with lots ahead yet.
Bigger than your average boobs with the girls a G cup. My DCIS didn't show up on mammogram or ultrasound with everyone convinced it was a papiloma, wart like lump. Surgical removal of the lump helped to make the diagnosis. MRI today as it seems its the best way to see whats going on in there so we will see where that takes me.
Everyone says the waiting and not knowing is the worse bit. I have to agree so just be gentle on yourself.

How has work gone this week? Not long now until the MRI next week.
We are back in a lockdown so a few easy weeks for us.....I km max from home for exercise, only shops up to 10 km, telephone medical appointments ( saves a fortune in gas oil!) except for x rays, and scans. Only essential shops open so no DIY, clothes only, cafes, restaurants etc. and no travelling!
I hope you have a good day. I see you had another early start. Is that for work or sleeplessness?
Take care. Love Karen
Hi Karen
I have had my MRI brought forward to today and results appointment will be next week so z week early.
Hence the early start been up since 3am. Talked this through with my BCN and she said that it will hopefully get better when I'm not in the twilight zone (my words not hers).
Lockdown doesn't sound like fun but at least your keeping safe. I'm in Northamptonshire and we have been told we aren't far off. I'm up for anything which makes a difference and saves lives.
Take care Debs x
