Breast cancer- Recovery bras

You don’t mention what surgery you have had, so it’s difficult to know what to recommend. I had a lumpectomy and just needed to wear a supportive bra so I didn’t jiggle around - my standard sports bras were fine. If you have had a different sort of surgery, you may need compression on the area to stop a seroma developing. There are specialist bras for this but I don’t have any experience of purchasing or using them. 

Hi, I had a lumpectomy and was told to bring a post surgery bra with me. It was put on whilst I was under anaesthetic.   It was one from M&S but a  good firm sports bra ( like a crop top style) should be ok. I guess it also depends on the size of your boobs, but as im a DD ( or was, lol) I needed a supportive bra anyway.   It's just important that they don't jiggle about whilst you are healing x

I had a lumpectomy plus lymph nodes removed and mammoplasty. so I'm all bandaged up underneath and under the arm and on nipple area. I am going to struggle to put the sports bra on so ive ordered from amazon compression ones that open from the front. So lets see. Im just worried it will dig in my scars

I had a front opening one and struggled with about 10 hooks and eyes, until I realised it was easier to step into it and pull it up. They are soooo comfortable x

Lol it was a game changer after struggling for several weeks after 2 surgeries.

Im just worried if it digs into the scar. Ive been told to wear it 24hrs

They are pretty soft and comfy-try to get as deep as one as you can tho, so it will go past your scar x

Im 5ft 9in so really tall the straps are always tight for me. Bras came, and yes they are digging into my scar so I'm wearing it on the last hook. Im just so swollen at the moment so hopefully will fit better in a week or so. Fingers crossed
