Life After Letrozole

I don’t have exotic letrozole but I have been living with vaginal atrophy for some years. I initially tried to help it with internal moisturisers as I had been reluctant to use oestrogen. Eventually I started using Vagifem pressurises, which make a significant difference, although I still also need the moisturisers. It’s my understanding that these treatments are topical and very little if any oestrogen circulates beyond where they are applied. My cancer isn’t oestrogen receptive but I understand these issues aren’t likely to go away or significantly improve without topical oestrogen.

Thanks for your reply. I think Vagifem contains a slightly stronger oestrogen than the Estriol 1mg cream that my GP has prescribed which is why I started using Yes VM as an alternative. I am going to start a more rigorous regime with the Yes moisturiser to see if the problems improve. I was only using it once a week and then when we went away I didn’t use it for a couple of weeks and have had a massive flare up lasting over 4 weeks and resulting  in 4 lots of antibiotics! (A long story, don’t ask!). I’m now testing infection free in the downstairs departments but I’m still really sore which is why my GP has talked me into trying the Estriol cream. I’m going to try the Octibac women too as there are some really good reviews online. If both of these fail then I will have to resort to the estriol.
