Its been a year since my diagnosis for her2 breast cancer iv had chemo surgery and radiotherapy and am now almost half way on kadcyla treatment and bone infusions every6 months. Although its described as lighter chemo compared to the brutal one I had to start I still struggle with the absolute exhausted feeling all the time and am now on amytriptaline for neuropathy effects of treatments, Im feeling very overwhelmed recently with 8 to go and more surgery I try be the best I can as have kids and a husband but I don't even remember the last time I had energy to clean my house its so upsetting when even having a shower makes me tired. Does anyone else here feel this way and will my energy ever come back enough to have a tidy home and not feel like everything is falling apart around me :(
I don’t have the same breast cancer but with metastatic TNBC I endured 3 operations (2 on my liver), 6 months of chemo, a further 6 months of immunotherapy and chemo, radiotherapy and 9 months of high dose steroids to recover from some of the issues caused by the immunotherapy. That was from March 22 to June 24 and I think it’s only this year I have felt largely back to normal, albeit with remaining peripheral neuropathy and some permanent damage from the immunotherapy. So I can completely understand your lack of energy but perhaps also give some hope that things will eventually improve.
I also think going through a cancer diagnosis and lengthy treatment leaves a mental toll. The uncertainty of it all. The grief over what you have lost and fear over where it might lead. People expecting you to bounce instantly back and be normal.
All I can say is take the time you need. Don’t worry about the house but try to build up your exercise, it really does help with fatigue.

Thankyou for your reply and wishing you all the best x
I'm coming to the end of immunotherapy. I've had a double mx. We've just got back from holiday in our motorhome. Today I called a halt on the ironing and cleaning etc. I just needed an easy day. In the past everything has been done in a couple of days. We are away for at least a month so there is lots of washing. But not this time. OH does alot ,including this year, most of the hanging out to get washing dry because I just couldn't do It.
We have both had to learn that things will get done but not necessarily today. Please don't beat yourself up about things needing doing. The world doesn't stop turning because your house isn't immaculate. Make a list of things that need to be done, e.g. School uniforms and make sure everyone, including the children understand that you need back up, even little ones can help to look after themselves. You would be surprised what they can do if you show them. Even simple things like putting their own things in the wash basket help keep things ticking along.
Apparently my granddaughter makes an excellent margarita! She's eight.
Three times! What did I do?
Thankyou for your reply and I will definitely have to delegate jobs more to my kids and husband although I very much doubt will get done Iv spoilt them all including my husband lol but Thankyou and Im so very sorry I have chemo today and am already in deep panic about it coming back its cruel hugs to you all and Thankyou again xxx
