I am due to start Neratinib in the next few weeks and wondered if anyone had any positive stories, I keep reading about horrendous diahorrea. I finished Kadcyla in March and have put this off so that I can enjoy some recovery time. Despite having Zolodex and exemestane, I feel fine now and dreading it taking over my life! I am due to go back to work next week (I’ve been off since Nov 2024 whilst undergoing treatment) and I just want to get back on track!

can anyone put my mind at ease?! X

  • Hi Jt23

I am about to finish a year of Neratinib and like you just read negative comments. I have not really had many issues whatsoever. I am not going to lie the first month was quite hard going with tiredness, nausea and some diahorrea(they do start you off with a high does of loperamide as well as nausea drugs) but then my body seemed to adjust and I was fine, i did adjust my diet and i think that is what most people say, nothing drastic but you have to go easy on spicy foods, fruit, juices, anything too acidic etc...the obvious things really! For the first month I ate lots of plain/beige food! I hadn't gone back to work when i started it and was glad to have a bit of time not working to get use to it, I went back about 2 months after starting! But it really has been very manageable. Xx
