Pre type two diabetes

I didn’t get diagnosed with pre-diabetes but definitely put on weight with Letrozole and then Tamoxifen (I was swapped due to existing osteopenia). In my year off meds before a recurrence I managed to lose a stone in weight and so far have maintained that even though I’m on Exemestane now.

This is weird. I've just put the phone down on the doctors. Apparently my cholesterol is up, it was always very low. My doctor use to say he wished his was as low as mine. I've also got to have another glucose check , in 12 months and the pharmacist will ring me today about my lifestyle choices. I've been on anastrozole for 4 months!! I haven't put on weight, although I am overweight. My diet hasn't changed in four months?

I really do not want to go on statins and it naturally makes me wonder why the sudden change?

My cholesterol up too. I exercise and avoid junk food. I wondered if anastrozole increases chance of developing diabetis.

Update. My cholesterol hasn't gone up it has actually gone down to 3.4!!! However my blood pressure needing medication ,which I've taken for about 15 years and my BMI also the same for about the last 10 year indicate I'm up to 12%. Twelve percent of what I have no idea. It should be below 10%. 

I'm afraid she got both barrels. I did apologise but really these figures are guidelines if not arbitrary. Nobody suggested statins last year and nothing has changed since then. I really don't want to put anything else in my body so I declined her offer.

It's a tick boxing process nothing more.

I gather oestrogen reducing meds can make high blood pressure worse

They have a tool into which they put height, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol etc and it produces a percentage risk of dying of a stroke or heart attack in 10 years. They recommended I went on statins when my answer came out over 10%. I said I have metastatic tnbc and I am not expecting to survive that for 10 years so this is all somewhat academic. Pharmacy technician was somewhat nonplussed. That said, I don’t want to be crippled by a stroke for the time I have left so I swallow the pills.
