Diagnosed June 2025 with +++ Breast cancer. I have had 12 TCHP, a lumpectomy, 5 days of radiation and 11 Kadcyla treatments. 3 more Kadcyla to go. They gave me Zometa at the same time as my last treatment. I feel utterly exhausted most of the time now, intermittent nausea and feeling really down. I am dreading the next 3 Kadcyla. 6 weeks to go, so near and yet so far!
Has anyone else found Kadcyla treatments much worse the more you have? Also how long did it take you to recover and feel normal-ish after you finished?
Hi Bonnie3351
I am one of the Community Champions on this forum. I don’t have the experience you are looking for as I have a different cancer with a different treatment pathway. I hope by responding to your post it bounces to the top of the page and that someone on Kadcyla sees it and responds. I did have Zometa infusions and found they made me a bit tired and achy for a few days, but not to the extent you describe.
I did find treatment was cumulative, and after 6 months of chemo, radiotherapy and a procedure on my liver (my cancer had spread to my liver), I went through a couple of weeks of absolute exhaustion. I think the mental side of what you have been through tends to catch up and join with the physical. Then it was like a switch had been pressed and I came out of it.
It might be worth contacting your medics, team about it. A quick blood test might reveal something simple.
