Post menopause period

Hi all, Ive not posted in a long time.

I was stage 1 breast cancer, had lumpectomy and 5 lots radiotherapy.

My 3 year check was all clear and riskmof potential further cancer was minimal. So in agreement with the Breast Cancer Nurse, the Tamoxifen was stopped, having completed 3 years, Sept 2025.

Blood tests indicated I was post nebapusal at 4 and 12 weeks off tamoxifen.

My last period was 18 months ago.

My mum died 5 weeks ago and her funeral was 4 weeks after. The day after her funeral, I started getting a 'dirty' discharge, then full on period with the most horrendous lower back ache which Im still struggling with

Should I accept this period is due to stress or should I be contacting the GP or BCN?

Hi there, sorry to hear of your mum's passing, this must be a difficult time for you. If it were me, I’d have a chat with the GP, just for pe2ce of mind more than anything else. Hope this helps.

Hi Good4agiggle

Sorry to hear about your mum. And a painful period after all that time is just what you don’t need. I’ve had a couple of post menopausal bleeds in the past, pre cancer, and always had them checked out. Thankfully nothing sinister but I think always better to get checked. Love and hugs, HFxx
