Hi All,
I'm wondering whether to start taking collegen supplements to counteract the loss of Oestrogen?
I'm 57 and feel about 100! I've read there is no evidence to suggest it changes the effects of Letrozole but by nature, Collegen aids cell growth so maybe not sensible for women after breast cancer.
I'm torn. I'm sure it will make me feel better but is it worth it if there is a small risk of cancer returning?
Anyone take it or had the conversation with a medical expert?
Hi there, whilst I've read on here about some people taking collagen supplements, I have to admit I wouldn’t do this without talking to my oncologist first. We are all slightly different with different types of breast cancers and treatments and I personally would want specific advice. Best wishes
Thank you for responding, I reckon I know what an Oncologist would say! I dont know how to get back in touch with an Oncologist as not had any appointments for a year - do you just contact the one from your letter?
Hi, I am still in touch with mine as I am still on Zometa treatment under her. You could always call the lovely folks here at Macmillan and have a chat with one of their experts. You can reach them 8 M to 8pm daily on 0800 808 0000. Good luck
Thank you so much! I had thought about that actually
