Are there other people out there that refused masectomy, and anyone else on phesgo?

Hi,

I most likely have posted this some time before.  I was diagnosed with IBC stage 3 that had spread to my lymph nodes, I had chemo but refused a maectomy (advise to have non-skin sparing), I have been on phesgo a year and I am still alive and so far no sign of any tumour anymore and no sign of cancer anymore, no active cancer cells were found in the tumour that was there post chemo from a biopsy.

I am wondering if anyone else refused a masectomy that is Her 2 positive with IBC and if so are you on phesgo or what is your treatment?  I am also wondering if any one else is on phesgo and how are you finding it?

I am still having real heavy discomfort in my chest and under my rib area despite the test results, is this normal?

  • Hi, I'm one of the champions here in this group and I just noticed your post hasn't had any replies yet, so I thought I'd answer as best I can.  I did have surgery (lumpectomy) after chemo and I also had 18 rounds of phesgo. I had no side effects from phesgo at all, which was a bit of a relief after chemo.

I hope that helps a little and perhaps someone else with more relevant experience to share will be along soon. Best wishes

  • Hi, thanks for responding.  I am on phesgo, I am get itchy skin like as if something is biting me and my breast still gets a lot of discomfort so not sure why, whether it is scar tissue or not.  Due to my type of cancer I am told it's likely I'll be on Phesgo for life unless something drastic happens, by that I take it they mean if the cancer comes back.  I hope you are well your side.
