Hi everyone, I am struggling with awful night sweats, being woken up 4-5 times every night. I am into my 5th year on letrozole and suffering lots of the lovely side effects that come with it, joint pain, hot flushes, brain fog, anxiety, mood swings and especially night sweats. I was prescribed gabapentin which has helped during the day with the hot flushes, but unfortunately not the night sweats. Has anyone been prescribed anything else that works? As my cancer was ER+ I know there is a limit to what I can take to help. Thanks in advance.
Hi there, this sounds so frustrating. It might be worth having a chat with the lovely people at the Macmillan chat line to see if they can provide any advice or ideas. You can call them on 0800 808 0000 from 8am to 8pm daily. Best wishes
Yes I do and use it several times during the night, which helps to a certain extent. Thank you for the idea. I feel guilty asking about something which seems trivial when lots of people are going through active treatment. I have read many posts since my diagnosis in 2021, but only recently felt brave enough to join the forum. maybe I can help someone with my experiences as much as this forum has helped me.
Hi there, I don't think your side effects are trivial at all, sleep is so important and it's tough when sleep get disturbed.
I also wanted to say that I am sure your experience will help others. That's the great thing about this forum, we all have so much to share. Best wishes
I have hand held rechargeable fans all over the place, and often find they are so very helpful, day as well as night.

I had a fan that goes round my neck. Effective and unobtrusive.I have post menopausal sweating. Yes ladies don't assume the sweats stop after menopause. During the day I take propantheline bromide. it makes my mouth very dry and I don't like that effect at night. It is very effective though and stops me looking like I've stepped out of the shower through the day.
Three times! What did I do?
I was prescribed low dose sertraline which is awesome. The other thing i did was get a wool duvet and mattress topper. Absolute game changer, no waking up dripping in sweat since. Not cheap but it has really helped.
Also both of us having separate duvets makes life more harmonious
