Looking for good experience of Tamoxifen!

Many people come to forums because they are struggling and need support which is why many posts will be about side effects. It is worth remembering, though, that not everyone experiences these.

I have taken tamoxifen for two years and have no side effects at all. Apart from actually taking the tablet each day I wouldn’t know I was on any medication. When I first started taking it I had a few days where I struggled to concentrate and a couple of slightly warmer nights but I changed the time I take it from the morning to after work and this quickly passed and think it was just me becoming accustomed to a new medication. I’ve had several different brands and not noticed any difference between them.

I have noticed a few changes in the last couple of years but think that is due to my age (48) and likely nearing/in menopause. Sometimes I think tamoxifen is ‘blamed’ for things which would be happening anyway. x 

I was on tamoxifen whilst waiting for my mastectomy and had no side effects at all, to the point where I wondered if it was doing anything! It is so different for everyone though but hopefully it gives you some hope. Xx

Thank you, that is reassuring. And I take your point about people using support groups and online forums - we’re a self selecting sample!
