Hi
I have taken part in a programme to analyse the genetic make up of my tumour, its revealed an FGFR1 mutation. Having Googled this I am now terrified I am destined to relapse after I get through this primary diagnosis as it is ‘strongly linked’ to endocrine resistance, poor prognosis and survival.
i’m Er+ PR+ HER2-. I’ve got young children and I’m terrified. Can anyone help?
One thing we all do and should not is Google . We never read any good news .
The best thing you have done though is have this genetic blood test , so now you and your consultants are fully aware of how to treat you, and what to watch out for , it may mean you have chemo instead of Hormone meds , or other meds that are more suitable.
easy to say don’t worry , but speak to your BCN they’re there to help xx
Hi there, so try not to worry. Google gives extreme cases and truly you cannot rely on this for your specific case. Speak to your medical team or even call the lovely people here at Macmillan on 0800 808 0000 daily 8am to 8pm for some reassurance end a chat. Best wishes
