Hi all
ive just been diagnosed with breast cancer although don’t know that much yet about what treatment will be needed as still waiting for some test results before we make a treatment plan.
I have a quick question that I’m hoping someone here might be able to help with please: I am wondering about eyebrow micro-blading. Is that a good idea for prep? I’m obvs worried about the possibility of chemo and thinking if I do it now, if I’m feeling ill-er later I might be thankful later.
Does anyone have any thoughts or better suggestions please? Thank you, I really appreciate you all (although wish we didn’t have to be in this situation!). You have been such a reassurance and support to me so far, seeing all the posts and comments! X
Hi Purple Warrior. You have to get your eyebrows done BEFORE starting chemo. After you've started there is a risk of infection so you would be refused by the technician. Same for tattoos. I didn't know that so I've been drawing mine in since last October. That's no hardship and I've got pretty good at it. I used an eyebrow pen from Amazon that had like three points so it looked like separate hairs. Not expensive and as I only draw them on when I go out and it lasted quite a while. I've reverted back to my normal Clarins pencil now. It isn't as bomb proof but it's quicker. My eyebrows are growing back.
I've never felt ill by the way. I've had a very delicate bladder at times, think cystitis without the pain. Some days I've been distinctly waffy, a medical term meaning, if you stand up quickly you might need to hang on to something till the blood catches up. Obviously if I sat down I fell asleep. However I've had coffees out, lunches out, visited family and managed to drive on none waffy days. We've been off in our motor home when the weather allowed. Since having my line out I've gone back to Aqua fit although I don't always get through a whole class.
I kept a diary of how I felt. A pattern appeared quite quickly so I knew when I might be best staying at home and when I could get out and about. Treatment day was Friday. Saturday was usually a right off because steroids kept me awake Friday night ,so I caught up then. Monday was dodge bladder day so I didn't go far from my loo.
I'm wide awake now because I have my bilateral mastectomy next Wednesday and the hospital bag I packed in preparation for surgery last August, before I had my treatment plan, has far too much stuff it and needs 're doing. Obviously I can't do it now I'd wake up OH. He needs his sleep before being full-time nurse
.
