Hi, I finished my last chemo on 18th Nov then had a mastectomy on 31st Dec. My muscle and joint pain is really horrible and getting me down. I feel like my body is like a 90year old not a 52year old. I was given severe chemo toxicity by the consultant overdosing me so not sure if that’s why it’s so bad or is this a common longer term side effect? Any experiences of this from anyone and how long did it last? Thank you in advance
Hi GLC1
I'm sorry I can't answer your question as I didn't have chemotherapy, but as your post has dropped to page (such a busy group!), by answering, I am bumping it back to the top of page 1 in the hope that there's someone around who can give their experiences at this time of the day.
Kindest wishes, Lesley
Hi, I had chemo but didn't struggle with this sort of side effect from that. But I take letrozole and the joint pain can be frustrating at times. I find walking helps a lot with that, though that seems counter intuitive. It's probably worth talking to your oncologist, if you haven't already done so. Best wishes
