How long after GP appointment did you have breast clinic appointment?

Hi all,

I saw my GP yesterday for a small lump I’ve found on my right breast, along with breast pain and itchiness. She has referred me to a breast clinic, but said that due to my age (29) and the lump being moveable, she wasn’t worried about cancer. She’s referred me for further tests just to be sure, and on the forms I can see I’ve been referred on the ‘symptomatic’ pathway rather than the 2WW suspected cancer pathway. However, on my NHS app under ‘tests’ it also says ‘fast track referral for suspected breast cancer’- so I’m unsure if I’ve been urgently referred or not!

if anyone has been in a similar situation could you please advise how long the wait was between GP appointment and breast clinic appointment? Not sure how long I can wait feeling this worried and anxious about it!!

Oh bless you, you’re so young. I was in my 40’s with the first scare, (I had cysts on that side) but not diagnosed with bc till I was 73..

I suspect you’ll be referred on the 2 WW and hopefully it shouldn’t be too long. However, even after that appointment you’ll still need to wait for results. You’ll need to fill your life and try to keep your mind as occupied as you can till then, that’s my advice…
