I’m 71 and been taking abemaciclib for just over 20 months, letrozole for just over 2 years. Maybe it’s because I’m older than I’ve ever been before or have greater tendency to feel tired, due to the abemaciclib mainly I think, but I do feel cold so much more readily then I used to! Getting active helps, but I need to stay still some of the time. Last winter in UK wasn’t particularly cold, and even just now isn’t as cold as we can get, but goodness I feel it more than I used to not so long ago.
I’m always cold also. I’ve only been on this drug a few months though.
Hello, I’ve been on Abemaciclib for 22 months, last winter I experienced icy coldness across my chest, this winter hasn’t been so bad for me. I try to maintain a consistent warm body temperature. I have regular saunas, and invested in good quality breathable thermals, I get a lot of hot flushes followed by icy chills - I was perimenopause before treatment.. I did raise it with my team, perhaps see what they say in case it’s something else ?!
Sadly if lymph nodes have been removed we can’t use saunas.
Brrrrrr, really feeling cold today!

I’m not sure if I’m honest, never really looked into it because I’m not really into saunas but I’ll have to read into this!
I think it's due to the increased risk of lymphodema, if you have lymphodema you're advised not to have really hot baths or showers.
I just had an in depth phone call with an oncologist this morning and asked about whether Abemaciclib causes the feelings of cold as yes, I’ve really felt it this winter. He said he felt it was far more likely to be the hormone therapy. I’m still not quite convinced….
