Completed 3yrs of Zoledremic treatment which was given to me alongside 4 yrs of Breast Cancer chemo, radiotherapy & mastectomy op. So pleased it's over as side effects were horrendous. Trying to get my life back before cancer diagnosis is proving difficult. Life will not be the same before breast cancer diagnosis & mastectomy as changes will be new start to continue to rest of my life. I'm going on 74 & live alone. Through Macmillan website was given a document by Dr Peter Harris on after cancer life & how to build back to a routine. It is brilliant. Felt that someone understands what it's like. Oncologist has prescribed anastrole for further 5 years which feels like going through menopause again! If anyone feels life is not going well, please read this document. It can be found on Macmillan website, it will give you hope that there is life after breast cancer. Xx
Hi SueTed21
Thank you so much for sharing that you found the document by Dr Peter Harvey helpful in coming to terms with life after cancer.
I know myself that it was more a case of finding my new normal than getting back to normal, if that makes sense. Life can be positive again but something as big as a cancer diagnosis and treatment will have an affect.
I will pop a link here in case anyone else would find it helpful.
