I was diagnosed in August with stage 1, grade 2 invasive ductal carcinoma and had wide local excision/ sentinel node biopsy 7 weeks ago. Radiotherapy to follow in the New Year and I've started taking Tamoxifen.
Initially I had a seroma and wound infection in the sentinel node wound which has now healed. Lately I've been noticing that my nipple blanches and feels uncomfortable when I remove my clothes, and when I shower.
I'm presuming this is vasospasm, but the only literature I can find about this is in relation to breastfeeding problems.
Has anyone else had any experience of this? I'm wondering if it's a short term problem, or long term
Thankyou so much.
Hi, I haven't had this, but I would definitely contact my breast cancer nurse and see what they say. My be get your consultant to look at it. Your not bothering them, that's what they are there for. I called mine with everything because they can't worn you about everything that might happen. Good luck.
Hi Louise, thankyou for that. I must admit I hate the thought of pestering them with something that seems minor, but I will. They've been brilliant so far.
Thanks again for your reply, it's such a weird journey!
Good, let us know how you get on, I had lumpectomy and my nipple skin grafted back on. It took well but looked like a piece of dog meat for a bit. Hahaha. It's definitely a weird time but I'm amazed at how my body heals.
