Hello

my partner m37 had an aggressive cancer in 2023, after his mascetomy he was all clear and had chemo and radio as a precaution.

In feb he had a ct scan which was all clear however, now we have had the news it’s back in his lung, his bones and currently undergoing palliative radio ( there’s no cure) and awaiting a brain scan,

also physically he is now in a brace for his spine as the tumour is wrapped around his spine and pressing lightly on it and any more pressure will hit his spinal cord and there is a high risk of being paralysed from the neck down.

i wanted to ask has anyone else had this experience, his young we have a young family and I just feel so overwhelmed and we don’t know any cases like this.

we thought it was over for us/ him. He would recover and we could plan a future with our kids but now it just feels like the future is so uncertain and I’m just wanting to know if there is anyone out there in the same situation?

thank you in advance.

  • Hello

I and the others who've reacted to your post are naturally very sorry to read what you are both going through.  It looks as if this isn't likely to find someone in a similar position as you, I'd recommend you / he give the Macmillan helpline a call and get some support form the team there.

0800 808 00 00 - I am sure you will find them helpful - both of you can ring separately as you both have different 'needs' really.  His for his cancer and you for being the support carer for him and your kids.

    Kindest wishes, Lesley
