Hi everyone. Before I started chemo I was told not to take any herbal supplements, no green tea and no sour sop tea for example which is what I was drinking before. So obviously I stopped drinking those.
Since finishing chemo in Aug I have been drinking loads of green tea as I enjoy it and of course because it’s good for you however I had a panic the other day thinking will it affect the effectiveness of letrozole. Google has mixed info. I remember asking the doctor before starting letrozole whether there was anything to avoid and she said she was not aware of any contraindications (unlike tamoxifen you cannot take turmeric and Abemaciclib you can’t have grapefruit).
I am also taking elderberry syrup to boost my immunity in readiness for starting Abemaciclib and now I’m worried about that.
Does anyone take any herbal supplements on letrozole?
Hi. It’s so confusing isn't it. I mentioned to my oncologist that I’d switch to soy milk, I am also on letrozole, and she got really cross with me, though she'd never given me any indication on dietary issues. I used the team of experts here at Macmillan snd they sent me the latest research and gave me some great advice. You can call them on 0800 808 0000 daily 8am to 8pm. Best wishes
