has anyone been able to get travel insurance that excludes cancer.  My quotes are coming back at over £2000 for one week in Cyprus yet my Oncologist said the chances of me having a problem or not being able to get home are very slim.

  • Hi

I have had two cancer diagnoses, including breast cancer, and have always managed to get reasonably priced travel insurance that includes my cancers.

I wanted to have travel insurance that will cover my cancer diagnoses as I'd be anxious that no matter what I claimed for, the insurers would say that it was cancer related and not pay out. Plus if my cancer recurred before I went away, I wouldn't be able to claim under cancellation if I'd excluded it.

As you know the online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the travel insurance group where you'll find lots of recommendations for travel insurers.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined have a look through the threads there called 'Recommended Travel Insurance' and Recommended travel insurance 2023-24', which you'll find on the first page. They are full of recommendations from other cancer patients who have got travel insurance.

I've used payingtoomuch.com and goodtogoinsurance.com in the past, both of which have covered my cancer diagnoses.

Let me know how you get on.
