Hi everyone.
I’m freaking out a little here and don’t know whether it’s necessary or not.
I had my first zoladex injection on the 15th Sept at the hospital. They said they would send paperwork to my GP that day for them to take over administration of it. I heard nothing so called my GP last week, they’d received nothing and I had to chase again yesterday.
To cut a long story short the GP has now booked me in for the 23rd October. They said that is the earliest appointment they have and now I’m worried sick because that will be over 5 weeks since my last appointment and I’m so scared there’s a window of opportunity for my ovaries to produce estrogen and cancer to grow again.
Does everyone have these injections exactly 4 weeks apart/what is the norm? Is it risky to let it go this long? I’m panicking
Hi, I will be having these injections , starting this Friday, but I was told that after the first one I would be sent home with the injection and I would administer it myself. Give your BC nurse a call and see if you can do that. I hope this helps, but please don't wait, I have had to push and push for everything ( mri, CT, heart scan, preoperative, oncology appointment) even if it ment calling each department every day to see if they had a cancellation. Good luck
