I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy in nov 23 on right breast. At my second year check up have been recalled regarding my left breast for more testing.Has this happened to anyone and how did you feel.Im upbeat and a positive person and my other cancer was in situ in breast but spread through all of the breast .

  • Sorry to hear you are in this situation. I've just been diagnosed for the third time. It's the middle of the night, I should go back to sleep. Please have a look at my profile as it is quite a long story.

It's tough going down the same road but you know what to expect and you know you can do it.

    Lots of hugs.

Three times! What did I do?

  • Good morning...

    Another lovely day.

On my morning circuit I had both the super moon and the sunrise. The moon is certainly bright. At 04.00 my grass was light a floodlit field.

Unfortunately I am accompanying a friend who may have BC for an ultrasound. She needed a driver.

So, I have to go now.

  • Sorry to hear this. Is it the same type as you had in your other breast? Are you on any long term medication? Did you have chemo and radiotherapy previously?

Just interested how this could happen so soon after the first one. My oncologist said that if you have radiotherapy, the other breast gets a small amount of radiation which could cause cancer in the future but usually 5-10 years later.

  • Hi I’m so sorry this has happened to you,

have you had a genetics test done or offered to you at any point? Just asking as I am BRCA2 positive and the likelihood is very high to have cancer in the other breast too…. So I wonder if maybe you could be a BRCA carrier?

  • I am sorry you have this extra worry.

I wasn't being flippant or insensitive yesterday when I posted pictures of sunrise . I was tired after a difficult night and put them on the wrong thread.

I hope you get some accurate results soon. I do know people who were called back for things which weren't more cancer and others who unfortunately had another cancer. My surgeon did warn me to stay vigilant as he said that now treatment often is successful so the original cancer is clear, the conditions in your body that caused it may remain. (They don't accurately know what is the cause yet) So it is more than possible to develop another new cancer which like the first can be treated and removed successfully.

I hope all goes well for you. And once again apologies for yesterday's mix up...
