Hi All,
This is my first time on this site. I want to share my experience of my last mammogram. All went well as per usual, until I had to present my breast for a side squash, in doing so the pain was absolutely excruciating. Now my last one three years ago was not, just the usual discomfort. When I had my lumpectomy 8 years ago the surgeon, I was told afterwards, uses clips which are left in the breast. I think they are used for target radiotherapy..I think the clips have moved, and are the reason the mammogram was so painful.
Has anyone experienced this?
Hi there, welcome to the forum, I’m one of the champions here in this group and I'm glad you've found us, I hope you'll find it a friendly and supportive place.
i'm sorry your mammogram was so painful. I honestly don't know if it is the clips or perhaps where you had the previous surgery. If you wanted to chat this through more then perhaps consider calling the team at Macmillan. They offer great advice and support and you can reach them on 0800 808 0000 from 8am to 8pm every day,
Best wishes
