Hi everyone. I finished chemotherapy 4 weeks ago. I have just had a call from the ovarian suppression team re zoladex injections. My first one will be 15th September.
What is worrying me is that I will have a blood test before hand which she said is a full MOT checking everything. I’m not sure about everyone else but I’m so scared what they might find. I know they can treat most things but the last thing I need is a liver/kidney issue/diabetes/cholesterol or god forbid another cancer. I’m so scared. I was really hoping to get on with my life now chemo has finished and radiotherapy is about to commence and I’m second week into my medication. She said they have a telephone call with me 3-4 weeks after to discuss the results.
Just wondering did anyone else have this? Was everything ok? I hope chemo hasn’t caused any issues.
Hi Sparkle498uk
Did they not do blood tests all the way through your chemotherapy? Or is this a different type of blood test? Surely if you've had o going ones they won't find anything new?
I about to start chemo next week...eeek.
Andrea
Hi Andrea. Thank you for responding. Yes I did have regular bloods throughout chemo and everything was ok as far as I am aware.
Yes I guess you are right thank you, I just tend to panic at these things and think the worst.
How are you feeling about next week?
I'm really scared actually. I was.supposed to start this week but my breast wound needs another week. Getting picc line fit on Friday I'm scared of that too.
Think with chemo I am scared of infection as I had to be admitted to hospital in Wales on holiday due to an infection from seroma from reincision....its really spooked me.
I'm sure you'll be fine with bloods.....they just like to test them a alot don't they...
I was also very scared to commence chemo but please believe me when I say this, it is completely doable. Don’t go into it thinking you’re going to be ill all the time. To me it was just somewhere I had to go for a few hours to get an Infusion. I still worked throughout and went to my weekly Pilates class. Everything you may suffer with they can give you medication for.
I know the infection is a worry but as long as you are sensible (hand washing etc) you will be fine. I still took my daughter to school and slept in the same bed as her and as you probably know kids pick up alsorts. Eat sensibly and you will be fine.
