Hi,
I had my first mammogram a year ago due to pain and feeling a little lump which came back all clear, ultrasound proved otherwise but unconfirmed so took it out... stage 1 so should be easy to cleat... Too much DCIS ended in a mastectomy. Got the 'all clear' in June and then got the letter for an annual mammogram this week (I'm 34) is this a mistake or a genuine appointment? Is it because of a year since the mammogram? Also distressed as the first time it was all clear just a bit of pain.. panicking probably over nothing but still...
hi super. You still have one breast!?After BC you have an annual mammogram for five years. You are then considered all clear. That just means if it comes back it’s a new cancer.
I hated those mammogram days and found focusing on work difficult. Teacher thirty Primary aged children when your heads like a shed isn’t great. Fortunately I had amazing TAs to keep me on track.
No mistake, look after yourself. Sometimes the radio therapists would tell me if things looked Ok but not always. Then you have to wait and we all know waiting is the hardest part of this journey.
Sending hugs and good wishes.
Three times! What did I do?
