Hey, I’m currently on my 7th chemo cycle. I started with 4 of Carboplatin/Paclitaxel, where my hair starting falling out after a couple of weeks. I’ve now had 3 cycles of EC and my hair has started growing back after the second cycle!!
I’ve read this happening the other way around, but has anyone had experience of regrowth while on EC? Will it fall out again!! Weirdly, I kept my eyebrows and lashes on Carb/Pac, but they fell out when I started EC, these are growing back too!
I’d love to hear anyone else’s experience!

Hi Lizzy
I am sorry to hear that you are going through chemotherapy for your breast cancer and that you are experiencing hair loss. I know that chemotherapy is a challenging thing to go through and I hope that any side effects that you are having are manageable.
My own cancer was endometrial and I had the carboplatin and paclitaxel chemotherapy. I did use the cooling cap but still shed with each cycle. I did also have some regrowth with each cycle. I lost my eye brows and eye lashes from the first cycle of my own chemo. It does seem that with chemo and hair loss there can be differences with both regimes and individual experiences.
I didn't have the EC as went straight on to radiotherapy after my chemo but hopefully someone who has had the regime will see your post and respond soon.
You are also welcome to call the Support Line and talk to one of the nurses if it would help. They may know more about EC and hair loss and regrowth.
I wish you well with the rest of your treatment.
Jane
Hi lizzy. Are you cold capping? I had 9 paclitaxal and carboplatin and didn’t lose any hair anywhere. I had 3 sessions of EC and after the second I lost most of my hair on my head and all my body hair. I finished 4 weeks ago and all my lashes and brows have grown back (after about 2 weeks) but no sign of any head hair or body hair yet.
I’d say keep doing what you are doing!
