Am just at the investigation phase- already have DCIS diagnosed but had 2 more biopsies taken for other areas that showed on MRI and am awaiting results. But I feel utterly exhausted? Does anyone else feel like this?
Yes! I was diagnosed 3 years ago and looking back I don't know how I coped with it all. Don't underestimate the emotional and physical impact it all has on your energy levels. There is lots of good advice on this and the Breast Cancer Now website but in a nutshell, look after yourself, cut yourself some slack and don't feel guilty about resting and recharging your batteries. I hope you get your treatment plan soon, which hopefully will help too. The treatment may also make you feel tired but it is very normal. I used to find the blogs about people scaling mountains and running marathons in between chemo slightly bemusing. I could just about make it up the stairs! Take very good care of yourself and good luck with your treatment and recovery.
Oh thank you soo much for your lovely reply!!
It’s so nice to hear that someone else felt the same!!
I am trying to be gentle with myself and taking time out but it’s such a strange situation to be in.
I really don’t think I’ll be scaling mountains anytime soon!
wishing you all the best with your journey too x
