Hi,
I had my first chemo last Tuesday and didn’t feel too terrible for the first few days but now I’m a week in I feel like I’m feeling worse. I’ve been sick a few times and really tired today. Is this what I should expect? I know everyone is different but thought I’d be feeling better not worse.
Thank you
Hi there.
That's exactly how it was for me. The first few days after my first chemo I thought I was going to sail through chemo but it wasn't until the following week that the side effects started to show and got worse. My tip would be to take your anti sickness even if you don't feel you need it.
I had 8 chemo cycles and that was typical of each one. I was getting chemo every two weeks so didn't have many days in between when I felt semi normal. I know some people have it every 3 weeks so gives a wee bit longer to recover between cycles.
It wasn't always easy and is certainly not any fun but I would say it wasn't as bad as I was expecting and my chemo is now finished. Now waiting on surgery.
I wish you all the very best for your treatment and your recovery x
