Hi everyone. Today I had my last EC chemo. I just wanted to thank every single one of you for commenting on all my chemo posts it has really helped me get through it knowing you are all here anytime I need advice. I will be having other treatments soon so no doubt I will need you again!

Now I need hair help. Can anyone tell me if they used any hair growth serums and when did you do that and did they help with regrowth please? I have a lot of bald patches which I want to try and speed up growth on then I can deal with the rest of my matted mess.

I know the hair is fragile for a long time and I don’t want more breakage and I know a lot of hair growth serums boost blood flow which you don’t want when there is chemo in your blood so aware I need to wait until out of system but not sure when that may be.

Thank you everyone xx

  • I started using a specialist hair shampoo and conditioner called watermans. It seems to be helping.
hair growth on the head is a long journey. I stopped chemo in November time and it is about 4 inches now

it’s not what I want but just riding it as best as I can xx

  • I have had chemo twice and lost my hair both times: completely the first time (4 rounds of EC followed by 12 weeks of Paclitaxel); mostly but not completely the 2nd time (12 weeks of NAB Paclitaxel alongside immunotherapy). Both times I used the Nioxin system kit 2 for natural hair with progressed thinning), starting once I had a centimetre of new growth. I have to say my hair had an odd dry texture for quite a few months but did eventually return to normal. I kept getting it cut very regularly, fortunately I was only trying to return to a short hairstyle.

  • Thank you I will try watermans x

  • Yeah mine is a very dry texture which is why I think it’s snapped off and matted a lot. Good to hear it returns to normal eventually. Thank you, I’ll have a look at that hair stuff x
