Hi everyone
My journey began in April. After an appointment which I made with the Big Bus I was called back for further investigations. After ultrasound scan and a mammogram calcifications were found on my right breast. A biopsy confirmed DCIS and a second biopsy identified the extent. The surgeon performed a therapeutic mammoplasty on my right breast and a mastopexy on my left breast to create symmetry. I had my results yesterday They showed no invasive cancer but the surgeon did not get clear margins with the DCIS. I had an option to try again to get it or have a mastectomy. Surgeon then said he could reconstruct at same time. So I could go for a silicone implant or tissue from my back or tissue from my tummy. I have opted for tissue from my tummy. This however is a longer period in hospital and longer recovery. Anyone go through this procedure? Thanks
