Hi. Did anyone find that their hair knotted really easily with EC? I know it has a drying effect but my hair has never been so dry and knotted and I just can’t get the clumps of knots out.

I’ve got one session left next Monday and I’m desperately trying to keep as much hair as I can (I am cold capping) but it’s so hard with these knots.

  • It's amazing that you still have hair. I'll bet you just want to never wash it or brush it. Can you just put it in a low bun and leave it knotty?

I need all of your tips. It would be amazing to keep my hair.

  • Mine knotted a lot but when I eventually managed to comb them out, my hair came out with them. I hope this isn’t your case too! My hair started coming out on my 2nd round so it. Sounds like you’re doing well! Wear a silk cap at night.

  • That’s exactly what happened to me. I had a big knot on both sides underneath after second EC and both came out when I tried to untangle but I had enough hair elsewhere to cover up the bald patches but now I have matted bits at the front after washing my hair last night and I can’t cover up the bald patches so currently installing my wig.

  • Exactly, I’m so scared to wash or brush it but I don’t think that helps. After my first EC I didn’t wash it for 3 weeks so no wonder I lost loads Weary

My hair did better on paclitaxal, didn't really lose any on that.

  • I was told by my oncologist that I would have minimal hairl loss with paclitaxal which is true. My hair has definitely thinned but I have no bald patches. My main problem seems to be it’s a completely different texture and no matter what I do it stands up on end and looks ridiculous. It has the same look as baby hair so I have to wear my wig when I leave the house. Has anyone else managed to tame baby hair please.
