My lashes are becoming very sparse. I have one chemo left on 4th Aug. I have false lashes I can use but what about lower lashes? Has no one invented false lashes for the lower lash line?!

  • Hi

I cannot answer your question but I had a friend at school who used to pull her eyelashes out when she was anxious.  She used to use eyeliner and that helped to disguise that the lashes weren't there...suppose its not a natural look though.

I bet beauty salon would do it for you if you are allowed to.

My chemo starts in Sept after a re-incision I have next week. I am going to have my eyebrows done before so that when I lose them I will still have some....individually tattooed strokes. I think anything we can do to make us look the same will help. X

  • That’s a good idea re the eyeliner I will do that I think.

I had my eyebrows tattooed last year and glad I did, they are a little faded but nothing a brow pencil doesn’t fix.

Can I ask how chemo has made you feel?

I am dreading it. The lumpectomy wasn't bad at all compared to my imagination...I am having re-incision next week so fingers crossed they get the margins this time.

I had 3 nodes removed like you and only cancer in one.

What made you have the BRCA tests? Did someone in your family have BC? I have just read your profile.

Have you lost your hair? Sorry for all the questions.

    Xx

  • Hi. To be honest I have done ok on the whole with the chemo. Working throughout.  I had 9 weekly sessions with the only side effect being constipation really. Had elevated liver twice and low potassium once. The second lot I had constipation, more tired and hair loss. I have been cold capping and lost a lot but that is more my fault for washing my hair too soon, brushing it too hard a lot snapped off as EC is very drying. I am managing to cover it up with root fibres and particular hair styles and hair extensions. Eyebrows have nearly all gone, all body hair went quite soon but it’s nice not to shave all the time Joy

I know everyone is different but please try not to worry about the chemo. I have just carried on as normal and not thought about it too much, eating plenty of fruit, drink cold pressed juices, take my multi vitamins and exercise when I can.

Yes my mums side of the family a lot carry the brca gene so I asked they tested me.
