Magseed injection

I know this is really silly as I have a lot.worse to come....but I have just been asked to go to the hospital for a magseed injection this PM and I'm scared.

My operation is on Thursday.

Is it just like the injection you have for the biopsy? I am just looking for comfort that it doesn't hurt.

  • I wasn't told what it was about when I went for mine, just thought I was having a normal appointment - so at least I didn't have time to think about it.

I seem to recall it was a bit of a sting, but other than that, I don't recall it being too much - it was about 8 years ago now, but it certainly hasn't stuck in my mind - except for the fact that I hadn't been expecting anything, so it can't have been that bad Slight smile

Hope this helps and good luck for Thursday.

    Kindest wishes, Lesley

  • Yes just like that, I felt nothing, had to have a biopsy at the same time so uncomfortable but not bad. I watched it all on the ultrasound screen Slight smile

  • I have just had it done. It actually really hurt but don't want to alarm anyone else cos it might just be me..

I am still very bruised from my biopsy 3 weeks ago where they hit a blood vessel and then had to put pressure on it for 10 mins to stop the bleeding.

Anyway all done now and ready for the operation on Thursday.

  • Hi, I found this procedure much easier than the biopsy, and I had them put in both boobs.  I found it best not to watch the screen while they do it though x

  • Hi

guys had mine in March a week prior to my operation , it was really no different to the biopsy , which didn’t hurt , it’s just the sharp scratch of the anesthetic that you feel and that wasn’t that bad.

unfortunately for me the mag seed didn’t work and they couldn’t hear it, so I had to go back the day before the operation for a wire to be inserted. But hey! The seed started singing like a canary so didn’t have to have the wire, I wasn’t looking forward to that tbh.

  • You had anesthetic for the magseed injection? I didn't. He just put the needle which was quite large right into my breast.
