Hello everyone,
Some may remember me as I was a right state. Diagnosed with her2 in October 2019 , 3 tumours and lymph nodes Involved. Anyway, 5 years later, just been signed off yearly mammograms. It's been tough at times but for those who are really frightened right now, just know there are many positive outcomes.
Keep going
Love julie ️
Thank you, yes it was tough, I'm still single but I'm happy with that. Thank you. Hope you're OK xxx
Lovely to hear your news. I remember you posting when I was first diagnosed (January 2021). Thank you for a positive post. X .
Hi Julie. This is absolutely fantastic, I’m so happy to hear this. I hope I can do a post one day like this, currently mid chemo. Really wish more people would share their positive stories to give us hope.
Please may I ask, were you her 2 negative or positive? What grade? And did you have chemo and radiotherapy? What medication were you put on and for how long?
Sparkle498uk ....There used to be a thread of positive stories and I expect if you search it, it will still be in the back pages.
But just in case you can't find it.....I had TNBC in 2015. I had chemo and radiotherapy because there was no other treatment for negative BC then. So far....all is well.
I live in an area where I will have a mammogram every year for the rest of my life but they have all been clear. I have a few problems that were caused by the chemo but I am enjoying my life.
I know on the Awake thread there are several other posters who have reached the 10 year mark with clear mammograms. I also have a friend who had TNBC 9 years ago. All clear.
I understand it helps to hear these successful outcomes when chemo drains you because I had someone at church who I didn't know well, give me a hug and say that she had had breast cancer 22 years previously. How reassuring that was!
I wish you well. I hope the chemo isn't causing you too many problems but the treatment will end and so often is very successful nowadays.
Take care. Karen
Thank you I will have a search for that post.
Wow that’s fantastic, I’m glad you are doing well and thank you for commenting, these stories are reassuring at a worrying time.
HelloSparkle498uk
I had Her2 positive breast cancer. I had 8 rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and then herceptin for a year. My cancer was stage 3 due to the fact it had spread to underarm nodes. Honestly I was literally petrified and so happy I'm at 5yrs and doing well!!!
Love julie
Hi Charlieandlola that’s so reassuring I’m currently having chemo first one last week and I’ve mentally gone done a slippery slope how did you manage xx
HelloPollyperk
It's very tough, it literally drained me too and I slept and slept. I had fec-t chemo and tbh the second half of it, the docetaxol, I found easier and was able to pretty much do what I wanted. However it was covid lockdown so I was completely isolated as my twerp X had ran off with another woman hahaha best thing that could have happened in restospect. I used to walk my little dog and feed myself well. It's a horrible thing to go thru but it's a blur now-as if it never happened
Love julie
