Hi. Just wondering if anyone has suffered from anxiety post treatment, having had no emotions during treatment? I had cancer three years ago, but now find I’m struggling with problems making me anxious.

  • Hi, this is understandable really. Have you read the paper by Dr Peter Harvey? As it really explains feelings well, even this far out….will find a link in case you haven’t seen it

  • Thank you. I had seen this before, but it was good to read it again. Hope you are ok.

  • I’m glad you’ve found the article useful. I had a read very early on in my treatment and it reduced me to tears, but later on I think it helped.

anxiety is totally understandable and was something I was aware of, oddly my bc recurred, sneaking behind the implant I’d had with my mx first time round and growing rather larger than I knew about as it was pretty well hidden.

So keeping a careful watch on your breast is a good thing to do without bringing obsessive about it.

are you on any treatment currently? As of course there’s the ROSETA trial which you might find interesting if you’ve not known about it before. I completed it and found it very helpful.

  • Thank you. Just Anastrozole. I’m really sorry your bc came back. I hope you are ok now. I didn’t know about the ROSETA trial.
    Take care x

  • That sounds as if your bc was oestrogen receptive? Your profile didn’t tell me as you haven’t put anything on it. That means that’s, you could partake in the ROSETA trial if they still want participants, I found it very helpful.

  • I’ve just looked up, I think the trial is still recruiting, but haven’t been able to find a link to post. I’d advise you to ask your BCN as to whether your hospital/area enables you to join it. I found the paperwork really made me think hard and evaluate my emotions, it’s especially aimed at ladies who are taking hormone therapies.

  • I'm enrolling on the SWEET study next week, which sounds very similar, but is almost full  now.

It is running in north cumbria to look at supporting women prescribed hormone therapy rather than them having poor adherence (ie. not taking it regularly or stopping taking it).

The study is to test whether having a support package can improve the hormone therapy adherence and quality of life-compared with yhe standard NHS follow up aftercare.

  • Thank you. That’s really kind x
