Cording after axillary node removal

Hello. I just wondered whether anyone suffered with cording and had any miracles to get rid of them asap?

I had axillary node clearance in February and got quite bad cording, looked and felt awful. I had physio and they went however I could feel some in my arm so physio did cupping which seems to have helped. I do have another session in a few weeks but she said it is a stubborn cord.

I read about someone using a massage gun and that got rid of them straightaway and the physio said I could try that however I tried that last night and it’s made it feel sore today and there is just one awful cord I’m desperate to get rid of. I’ve also tried getting my partner to yank my arm and I’ve taken my dog out on a walk on the lead as he pulls terribly so thought that would help.

  • Hi

I didn't have cording but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

I did a search in the group to see if I could find any previous posts which mentioned cording and found these for you to have a look through. You could respond to the more recent posts to see how the posters are getting on.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi,

    • I had surgery in January & had/have cording which is also stubborn.  I find weights in the gym really help and the pull up machine. The cupping, also stretching and lots of massage. I think you just have to perservere from all angles really it's not nice I hope it goes soon. I will let you know if I get rid of it.
  • Thank you for commenting, glad I’m not alone. I need to do more stretching and massage I think and hopefully the cupping in a few weeks will help. Thank again, I hope you get yours sorted asap too x
