I had a mammogram and ultrasound on April 11th, and was called back on April 14th for biopsies, (core needle biopsy). I was told that surgery might be needed regardless of whether the results show cancer or not, due to tissue distortion or pulling in my right breast. My results appointment is scheduled for next Friday. I’m feeling a bit anxious as the date approaches.
Has anyone here been to the Beaumont Breast Clinic? Do they typically give diagnoses, including cancer, on a specific day? I’m particularly wondering because my appointment is on a Friday and it’s with a surgeon. Any advice or shared experiences would be really appreciated. I just want to be prepared.
Hello, I wasn’t with the clinic that you name, but I have always been seen by a surgeon for results of tests that you mention. When I was much younger, I had mammograms and CT scans etc, and in one instance a biopsy. These were for benign conditions, but I was still given the results by a consultant surgeon. Likewise, when I did develop breast cancer ( many years later - I am now 63) I was also given the results by a consultant. So for my clinic, I guess that’s the procedure that they use following all investigations. The anxiety is horrid isn’t it. Xx
