Hi everyone I have breast clinic appointment on 22 April I'm so scared and anxious right now.
Last week I noticed my right nipple go invert sometimes after that I keep checking my breasts and while I was having shower I noticed there is small lump in same breast I was so worried next day been to GP she checked and said she can feel what I feel but it's more like a milk duts and she said because of nipple inversion I can send you to breast clinic but she said I'm sure there is nothing and don't worry about too much .
But now I'm so sacred I'm 37 years old and I have 2 daughters I'm worried about them and all other things just here to get some advice because it seems like no one understand what I'm going through and what I'm feeling right now maybe I can get some advice or reassurance here.
Hi Bella098
It's natural to be worried when you notice something that isn't quite right with your body, you wouldn't be human if you didn't.
They'll take good care of you at the breast clinic and explain everything that they're doing. When I went I started with a mammogram and then the consultant checked my breasts. After that I had an ultrasound and, because they could see something on the ultrasound, I had a biopsy. Unfortunately for me I did have breast cancer but now, 3 years later, I'm back to leading a normal life after about 9 months in total of treatment.
If you do have breast cancer, and it's a big if at the moment, then it's usually very treatable. I know it's easy to say, but try not to spend your time leading up to your appointment worrying as it won't change the outcome but will ruin the present.
((hugs))
Thanks for replying I hope your doing well that's so help full I'm trying to doing my normal things but it's so hard to not think about it and stay calm .
I hope so
Hopefully it is going to be fine but I know waiting is so awful . Today I just feel little better I managed to go out with family. your words is helpful and so kind as you said worries don't change outcome but ruin the percent . Thanks alot
Hi Bella
of course it’s all normal to be worried and scared , we all were when waiting for answers , it’s the worst part .
Let’s look at this logically … best scenario your GP didn’t seem too worried and it is very common to have blockages in the milk ducts or cysts. I have quite a few apparently that I didn’t even know about until I had an ultrasound (all fine btw) and yours could be the same.
secondly let’s look at the worst scenario from this , they could find a cancer.
The treatments these days are so advanced and is definitely not the death sentence it once was.
Did they say what they were going to do at the breast clinic on the 22nd ? Mammogram ultrasound ?
Hopefully you'll be fine but understand the anxiety is insane! Hope you won't need to join the club, I did last year at 33 but in the last week my sister (38?) And friend 64 both had checks one with cyst and another with a blocked duct. So could be anything nit just cancer
