Hi. I am about to start Paclitaxel infusions on Wednesday. I am trying to organise a lift and wondered how long an infusion session lasts.
Hi
My appointments were usually scheduled for 2pm but the chemo suite was nearly always running late so it would often be 2.30 before I was sitting in a chair.
Assuming there were no other hold ups I was usually ready to leave between 5.30 and 6pm.
I had 12 weekly infusions. The actual infusion took an hour, the pre meds about 30 minutes then allow for delays and faffing! If you’re using a cold cap add in another couple of hours. I was usually in and out in 2 to 3 hours.
