Hi
im two months post op from lumpectomy and reconstruction. Pre radiotherapy. I have the best outcome from the op and have been feeling very well. Suddenly have become tired and lacking energy. Is this normal? I thought I was doing so well

Hi Willough,
I'm in exactly the same stage as you, in fact I just found out that the margins were clear on my 2nd lumpectomy today!!
I'm exhausted!!! I have put it down to emotional strain and still healing! Don't underestimate the emotional toll it has taken on us, as well as having to carry on our day to day lives.
I've resigned myself to the fact that I will feel like this until after the Radiotherapy, then hopefully feel better once Spring and Summer arrive.
Be kind to yourself
Hi Willough , are you on hormone therapy? I was put on it after my op, as my breast cancer was strongly oestrogen receptive, when I had my oncology appointment and signed up for radiotherapy. I’m on Anastrozole but there are several others. I think they are all associated with tiredness and fatigue. But equally, as Beetsy has said, the whole cancer experience is draining. I have found that exercise seems to be the best therapy for me, even during rads I walked every day, often in the dark as it was winter. Doesn’t need to be long and should always be at your own pace, but I always feel better for having got out. Sending healing hugs to you both , HFxx
