Hi
i had lumpectomy (and lymph node removal) back in August, another surgery in sept as clearing margin wasn’t wide enough and then radiotherapy in nov - just five days.
am now on Anastrazole for five years.
my follow up appointment is in two weeks (not sure what happens there) but recently feeling a bit rough; headaches, glands ache and aches around scars. I am exercising more, stretching arm muscles, massaging so maybe this is just natural whilst everything is knitting together. I guess the radiotherapy is still going on even though it finished 7 weeks ago.
I could just be fighting winter viruses too but naturally, any new aches and pains cause some anxiety. Any thoughts?
I was speaking to my plastic surgeon today as I'm about to start radiotherapy and he said that usually the worse effects of the radiotherapy aren't felt until weeks after the course is completed and stressed to me how important it is to keep up with exercises. He even said that my arm could freeze over time if I didn't.
In your case I would definitely contact my team. It doesn't hurt to call them and it can be such a weight off yourself to be reassured.
x
